The Pentair 350033Z is the plastic diffuser assembly for the EQ Series commercial pool and spa pumps. It is the genuine Pentair part, listed as the 7.5HP diffuser assembly for the EQ750.
What the diffuser does
Water leaves the impeller fast and turbulent. The diffuser is the molded piece that catches that flow and converts speed into pressure before it reaches the volute. It is doing real work every hour the pump runs, and when it cracks, distorts or wears its clearances open, the pump keeps drawing the same power while delivering noticeably less head. On a commercial system that shows up as poor turnover long before anything sounds wrong.
Fit
Pentair lists this diffuser for use with the EQ-Series Commercial Pool and Spa 7.5 and 10 HP pump models EQ750, EQK 500 - 750, EQKT 750 - 1000, EQ1000, EQK 750 - 1000 and WQ1001. Check your pump against that list rather than the horsepower alone.
The diffuser o-ring and the seal plate o-ring are separate parts. Since the pump has to come apart either way, most techs renew both along with the diffuser.
