The Pentair 356795Z is the seal plate for the EQ Series commercial pumps, measuring 11 by 2.5 inches. It is the genuine Pentair part.

Where it sits in the pump

The seal plate closes off the back of the wet end and carries the mechanical shaft seal that keeps water out of the motor. It is the piece the volute bolts against, so a cracked, warped or corroded plate shows up as a leak at the back of the pump rather than at the plumbing.

Which pumps take it

Pentair lists this plate for the EQW 300 to 500, the EQWK 300 to 500, the EQ 500 to 1000 and the EQK 500 to 1500. The EQ Series is the all plastic, non corrosive line Pentair builds for commercial pool and water work, where the plumbing chemistry would eat a metal housing.

What is not included

The plate is sold on its own. If the pump is apart far enough to change the seal plate, the shaft seal package and the seal plate O-ring are worth ordering at the same time; both are separate Pentair parts.
