Product details

The Pentair 350171 is the lock ring with lid gasket for EQ Series commercial pumps. It is the genuine part, supplied with both pieces so the ring and its gasket are replaced together.

What it does

The lock ring draws the strainer lid down against the pot and the gasket makes the seal. That seal is what lets the pump hold vacuum and stay primed. On a commercial pump the lid comes off often for basket cleaning, so the ring threads and the gasket see far more cycles than most pump parts.

When to replace it

If the pump loses prime after the basket is cleaned, runs noisy, or the pot will not fill completely, the seal at the lid is the first thing to check. A gasket that has flattened or a ring that no longer pulls down evenly lets the pump draw air instead of water. The clear EQ Series strainer lid itself is a separate part if that is also damaged.
