Product details

The Hayward SPX3210X15Z1PE is the 1.5 HP UR power end for the TriStar pump. It is the genuine Hayward part, supplied as an assembly.

What a power end replaces

Rather than replacing an entire pump, a power end swaps the motor end of it. The strainer housing stays where it is, bolted into the plumbing, and the new power end goes on in place of the old one. That keeps the pipe work and the union connections untouched, which is the slow part of any pump change.

Getting the right one

Power ends are horsepower specific. This is the 1.5 HP UR version, so read the rating from the label on your existing motor before ordering. Hayward lists other TriStar power ends for other ratings, including a 0.75 HP unit.

Parts that go with it

The TriStar strainer housing, the strainer cover kit and the matching impeller are all separate Hayward items. If the housing or the lid is cracked, order those at the same time so the pump goes back together in one visit.

What is a power end?
It is the motor end of the pump supplied as an assembly. The strainer housing stays in the plumbing and the power end bolts to it.
Does the strainer housing come with it?
No. The TriStar strainer housing, its cover kit and the lid are separate Hayward parts.
Will it fit my TriStar?
It is the 1.5 HP UR power end, Hayward SPX3210X15Z1PE. Check the horsepower and rating printed on your existing motor label against it.
Is there a version for a smaller pump?
