Product details

The Hayward SPX3215C is the 1-1/2 horsepower impeller for TriStar pumps, supplied with the impeller screw. It is a new OEM Hayward part.

Fitment

Hayward lists it for the TriStar models SP3200 and SP320EE, and the same part is also catalogued against SP3200EE. Those two readings of the second model number sit side by side in the source, so match the number on your pump label rather than assuming. Hayward also notes it may fit other Hayward model pumps.

Why an impeller gets replaced

The impeller is the part that moves the water, and it sits just past the strainer basket where hair, grit and small debris collect. Packed vanes choke the flow, and vanes worn thin let water slip back inside the pump instead of pushing it to the returns. Either way the symptom is the same: weak returns and slow skimming from a pump that still runs.

Match the horsepower

Impellers are sized to the motor. This is the 1-1/2 HP impeller and it belongs on a 1-1/2 HP TriStar. Fitting a different size changes the flow the pump and filter were sized around.
