What the impeller does

The impeller is the spinning part that actually moves the water. It sits behind the seal plate on the motor shaft, and everything downstream of the pump depends on it: filter pressure, heater flow, skimmer pull and the reach of your return jets. When it wears, clogs with debris or cracks, flow drops away and no amount of basket cleaning recovers it.
