Compatibility, read this first

The two sources for this motor do not agree. The Zodiac catalog lists R3000701 only for AE-Ti models AE2000, AE2500 and AE3000 manufactured from 2004 to 2009, and AE1500 manufactured from 2006 to 2009. Some vendors list it more broadly, for 2000, 2500 and 3000 EE-Ti and AE-Ti units, AE 500, Air Energy 2 and Air Energy Magnum 550 SETI heat pumps. Contact Zodiac with the serial number on your heat pump to confirm compatibility before you order.

What the fan motor does

A heat pump pulls heat out of the air, and it can only do that while the fan draws air across the evaporator coil. When the motor seizes, runs slow, or trips out on its own thermal protection, the unit runs but stops making heat. Bearing noise and a fan that will not spin freely by hand are the usual signs.

Installation

This is 230 volt work inside a heat pump cabinet. Isolate the unit at the breaker and have a qualified technician handle the wiring and the fan blade balance if you are not equipped for it.

Which heat pumps does this motor fit?
The Zodiac catalog lists R3000701 for AE-Ti models AE2000, AE2500 and AE3000 manufactured from 2004 to 2009, and AE1500 manufactured from 2006 to 2009.
I have seen it listed for EE-Ti models as well. Which is right?
Both listings exist. Some vendors show this motor for 2000, 2500 and 3000 EE-Ti and AE-Ti units, AE 500, Air Energy 2 and Air Energy Magnum 550 SETI, which goes beyond the Zodiac catalog. Contact Zodiac with the serial number on your heat pump to confirm before ordering.
