Product details

The Pentair 473785 is the fan motor with acorn nut kit for the UltraTemp pool and spa heat pump. It is the genuine Pentair replacement and it comes with the acorn nut needed to mount the fan.

Why the fan decides whether the heat pump works

A heat pump does not burn anything. It pulls heat out of the outside air and moves it into the pool water, and it can only do that with air moving across the evaporator coil. When the fan motor slows or stops, the unit runs, the compressor loads up, and the pool temperature does not move. That is why a fan failure often gets misread as a refrigerant or compressor problem.

What to expect

The fan motor sits at the top of the cabinet, outdoors, turning for hours every day through every kind of weather. It is usually the first electrical component on a heat pump to wear out, and bearing noise from the top of the unit is the early warning. This kit supplies the motor and the acorn nut together.
