The Hayward DEX6020EA is the outlet elbow for the DE6020 DE pool filter, supplied with its o-ring. It is the genuine Hayward part.
What it does
Inside a DE filter, water is pulled through the coated grids and collected by an internal manifold. The outlet elbow is the fitting that carries that filtered water from the manifold out through the tank. It is a sealed junction, so the o-ring matters as much as the elbow itself.
When to replace it
If DE powder keeps returning to the pool and every grid checks out, the leak is often here. A hairline crack in the elbow or a hardened, flattened o-ring lets water bypass the grids entirely and carry powder straight back to the returns. Clean the seat before fitting the new o-ring so it beds evenly.
