What it is

The outlet elbow carries filtered water out of the tank and into the return plumbing. It is a pressurized plastic joint that spends every running hour under load. Cracks from age, over tightening or a hard freeze, and an o-ring that has taken a set, both show up the same way: a weep or a spray at the outlet as soon as the pump starts. The assembly arrives complete with its o-ring, so both halves of the seal are new.
