The Raypak ELS-R-0030-4-TI, part number 019146, is the 30 kW, 480 V model of Raypak's E3T 3-Phase electric heater for commercial pools and spas: 102,364 BTU/hr, 6 titanium heating elements, and a digital control with an 80 character display.
Where it fits
Raypak designs the E3T 3-Phase for commercial use: multi family housing, schools, hotels and aquatic centers. It is certified to UL 1261 and CEC Title 20, installs indoors or out, and mounts vertically on a level, non combustible base or a wall.
Protection built in
Flow protection keeps the elements off below 15 GPM, so the heater cannot dry fire. Low temperature operating mode guards against sharp drops in system water temperature, and load detection stops unwanted heating when there is no call for heat. On this size, 50/50 mode runs the heater at half capacity to help prevent downtime and reduce energy costs.
Electrical and plumbing
Raypak's manual gives 36.08 A per phase at 480 V, a 50 A breaker per phase and 8 AWG wire for this model; have a licensed electrician confirm the supply. Water connections are 2 inch NPT with unions included, and the working flow range is 15 to 60 GPM; above 60 GPM Raypak calls for a manual bypass valve.
