Product details

The CMP 25563-052-000 is the generic replacement for the Polaris G52 back-up valve assembly. It carries the same timer mechanism as the original.

What it does

Every 5 to 10 minutes the internal timer diverts water out of the side jet. That jet works as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or away from a wall so it changes direction instead of grinding in one corner. When a pressure cleaner starts getting stuck or stops covering the pool, a back-up valve that has stopped cycling is one of the first things to check.

Fitting it

The valve goes inline on the hose, 5 to 6 feet back from the head of the unit. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb, and that arrow should face toward the cleaner. Two hose nuts are included, so nothing else is needed to put it in.
