Teledyne Laars R0097800 is the replacement terminal block for the heater, carried under the Jandy Laars Series 2 and LX/LT heater parts groups.

What it is

A terminal block is the common landing point for the heater control wiring. Conductors land on its lugs and the block keeps them separated and secured. It is a quiet part until it is not.

How they fail

Heat, vibration and moisture are all present inside a heater cabinet. Over years a block can crack, char at a lug that worked loose, or corrode where damp has reached it. The symptom is usually intermittent operation or no heat at all, and it gets blamed on the control board more often than on the connection carrying power to it. Isolate the heater circuit at the breaker before opening the panel to inspect or replace this part.
