Mechanical, not electrical
The Fluidmaster valve works on float position alone. As the level drops the valve opens, and it shuts again once the water is back up, with no controller, sensor or power feed involved. If the valve itself wears out, the float valve assembly is a separate part, so the whole autofill does not have to be replaced.
