This is the CMP manual air relief valve and pressure gauge assembly for sand filters, part number 25357-273-564. CMP lists it as the replacement for part 273564.

Two jobs in one fitting

The assembly sits on top of the filter and does two things at once. The manual relief valve lets you purge air from the tank, which you have to do after opening the filter, changing media, or refilling a drained system. The gauge tells you the pressure inside. Those two readings are the whole basis of routine filter maintenance: you note the clean starting pressure and backwash when it climbs. A gauge that has fogged, stuck or lost its zero takes that reference away, and owners end up backwashing on a calendar instead of on the actual condition of the media.

Why replace it as an assembly

The relief valve, its seat and the gauge are matched to each other. Sourcing them separately means matching thread sizes and gauge ranges, and a mismatched combination either leaks or reads wrong. Ordering the complete assembly under one part number takes that guesswork out. When you refit it, bleed the tank properly before bringing the system up to full pressure.
