Product details

This is a CMP generic top manifold assembly for the Hayward Pro-Grid and Micro-Clear DE filters, replacing the Hayward DEX2400C. The air relief is built into the top of the manifold.

What the manifold does

The top manifold is the header the DE grids plug into. Water passes through the grids, into the manifold ports and out to the pool. If the manifold cracks, or a grid port loses its seal, unfiltered water and loose DE take the short route back to the returns. That is what people are seeing when DE keeps coming out of the returns despite new grids.

This is an aftermarket part made by CMP. It may vary in appearance from the Hayward original while matching it for fit and function. It is listed for the Pro-Grid DE2420, DE3620, DE4820 and DE7220 filters.

Is this a Hayward part?

No. It is a CMP generic replacement for the Hayward DEX2400C. It may look slightly different from the original but is functionally equivalent.

Where is the air relief?

It is built into the top of the manifold, so there is no separate relief piece to fit.

DE is coming back into my pool. Is the manifold the cause?

It can be. The grids plug into the top manifold, and a cracked manifold or a bad seal at a grid port lets DE bypass the grids entirely. Check the grids for tears at the same time.
