Pentair Purex 073270Z is the OEM eight hole manifold used in Purex DE filters. It is the piece the DE grids seat into, and the path filtered water takes on its way out of the tank.

Where it fits

It is listed for the Purex 2000 Series stainless DE filters, SMBW models 2024, 2036, 2048, 2060 and 2072 along with the 1018, 1027, 1036, 1045 and 1054 models, and for the Purex 4000 Series molded SM and SMBW filters 4024, 4036 and 4048. Count the ports on the manifold you are removing to confirm you need the eight hole part.

When to replace it

A manifold that has cracked, warped or lost its grip on the grid ports will let diatomaceous earth slip past the grid set and back into the pool. If DE keeps returning through the returns after a fresh charge, the manifold is worth pulling and inspecting while the filter is open.
