Product details

The Hayward SPX1392CA is the replacement wedge, bolt and washer for the Hayward SP1392 ABS anchor. Hayward also lists it as the Cycolac wedge assembly.

What it does

The wedge is the piece inside the deck anchor that clamps down on the rail. When it wears, corrodes or seizes on its bolt, the anchor stops gripping and the rail moves no matter how hard the bolt is turned.

Before replacing the anchor

A loose rail usually gets blamed on the anchor itself. Take the hardware out and look at it first. If the wedge, bolt or washer is the part that has given up, this small kit puts the anchor back to work at a fraction of the cost of digging out and resetting a new one.

My rail will not tighten in the deck. Is this the fix?
It is the first thing to check. If the wedge or bolt is worn, seized or corroded, the anchor cannot clamp the rail. Pull the hardware out and inspect it before buying a whole new anchor.
