The SuperPro G-178-9 is the diaphragm gasket for the Perflex DE filter, sold as the replacement for the 25 square foot model.
What it seals
A Perflex filter works by holding DE on a set of flex tubes inside a diaphragm assembly. The gasket is what closes the joint between that assembly and the filter body. Its whole job is to make sure every gallon goes through the coated tubes instead of slipping around the edge. Once the gasket is flattened, nicked or hardened, water bypasses the media, the pool stops clearing and DE finds its way back to the returns.
