The 77707-0202 is the Sta-Rite flameholder kit for the 200,000 BTU heater size, a component of the gas heater burner system.

What the flameholder does

Gas heaters do not simply light a flame and hope. The flameholder anchors combustion where the design puts it, holding the flame stable and spread evenly under the heat exchanger. That geometry is what makes the heater burn cleanly, transfer heat efficiently and stay within its safety limits.

Why it fails and what it looks like

Flameholders sit directly in the fire and eventually distort, corrode or burn through. The symptoms are combustion symptoms: a flame that lifts away or burns yellow and ragged, soot building up in the burner tray, heat that does not come the way it used to, and safety switches tripping soon after the heater fires.

Before you order

Which heater size is this for?
The 200,000 BTU size. Heater input rating is on the data plate, and a flameholder from another size will not set up correctly.
What does a flameholder do?
