Product details

The Hayward FDXLFHA1930 is the front header assembly for the Universal H-Series Low NOx FD pool heaters, H150FD through H400FD. Hayward lists it as Header Assy, FD Heaters, and it is the Brand OEM part.

What the header does

The header is the water side manifold at the plumbing end of the heat exchanger, where the pool plumbing connects. Hayward builds a bypass into the header to keep flow through the heat exchanger correct, the thermistor screws into the inlet side of it, and the high limit switches are mounted on it. It is the usual replacement when a heater leaks where the pool plumbing meets the heater.

What is included

The assembled header, not loose pieces. The header o-ring kit is a separate part, and plan on replacing the o-rings whenever the header comes off. The union nuts are a separate part.

Before you order

Confirm the model number on the heater rating label reads one of the Universal H-Series FD models. Drain the heat exchanger and turn off the gas, power and pump before removing the header.
