Product details

The Hayward IDXL2TRF1930 is the 240 volt transformer for the Universal H-Series Low NOx pool heaters. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What it does

Nothing on a modern gas heater runs on line voltage alone. The transformer takes the incoming 240 volt supply and steps it down to the low voltage that feeds the control board, the ignition control and the string of safety switches. When it fails, the heater goes completely quiet: no display, no ignition attempt, no fault code, even though power is present at the terminal block.

Before you order

This is the 240V transformer, so confirm the supply your heater is wired for. Work inside the control compartment means shutting off gas and power at the source, and if you are not comfortable testing voltage, hand the job to a licensed pool heater technician.

Will this fit my H-Series heater?
It is the Hayward transformer for the Universal H-Series Low NOx heaters in the 150 to 400 range. Check the model plate on your heater against that family before ordering.
Is there a 120V version?
This part is the 240V transformer. If your heater is wired for 120V you need the transformer built for that supply, not this one.
What does the transformer actually do?
It drops the incoming supply voltage down to the low voltage the control board, ignition control and safety switches run on.
My heater is completely dead. Is this the fix?
It is a common cause. If the breaker is on, power reaches the heater and nothing on the control panel lights up, a failed transformer is one of the first parts to test.
