Hayward IDXLVPS1930 is the genuine OEM vent pressure switch for H-Series pool heaters.
What it does
The vent pressure switch is a safety interlock. Before the heater is allowed to light, the switch has to see that the venting is doing its job. If it does not, the control locks the heater out. That is deliberate: a gas appliance that fires without proving its venting is a hazard.
Diagnosing it
A failed switch reads as a heater that runs its start sequence and then refuses to fire. Before replacing the switch, rule out a blocked or restricted vent, a failing blower, and a wiring or connector fault, because all of them look the same from the front panel. If the venting is clear and the switch never closes, the switch is the part.
Never jumper a vent pressure switch to get the heater running. It removes a combustion safety and leaves the underlying fault in place.
