Product details

The Hayward FDXLVPS1930 is the indoor vent pressure switch kit for H-Series Universal Low NOx pool and spa heaters, models H150FD through H400FD. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What the switch does

On an indoor installation the heater has to prove that the vent is pulling before it will allow the burner to light. The vent pressure switch is what makes that proof. When the switch fails, sticks or drifts out of calibration, the heater either refuses to ignite or drops out soon after it fires, and the fault is easily blamed on gas supply or the ignition control.

Before you order

This is the version rated for 0 to 2000 feet of elevation, and it is specific to indoor vented heaters. Higher elevation installations and outdoor heaters use different switches, so confirm the part number on the switch you are replacing.

Which heaters does this kit fit?
Hayward H150FD through H400FD Universal Low NOx pool and spa heaters, in indoor vented installations.
Does the elevation rating matter?
Yes. This is the 0 to 2000 foot version. Hayward uses different vent pressure switches at higher elevations, so check the switch you are removing before ordering.
Is this for an outdoor heater?
No. It is the indoor vent pressure switch kit. Outdoor installations use a different pressure switch.
Why would the vent pressure switch need replacing?
The switch proves the vent is drawing before the heater fires. When it fails or drifts, the heater will not light or will shut down shortly after ignition even though the burner and gas supply are fine.
