Product details
The Hayward HAXPSA1930 is the water pressure switch assembly for H-Series heaters. It is the genuine Hayward part and it is supplied as a complete assembly.
What it is protecting
A gas heater must never fire without water moving through the heat exchanger. The pressure switch is the device that proves that flow. It sits in the water path and closes when the pump develops enough pressure, and only then will the ignition control allow the burner to light.
Diagnosing it
A heater that will not fire while the pump runs points here, but the switch is often blamed for a problem upstream. Check the filter pressure, the valve positions and the flow rate first, because a dirty filter or a partly closed valve gives exactly the same result. If flow is genuinely good and the switch still will not close, the assembly is the replacement.
