Product details
The Hayward CHXTRF1930 is the genuine dual voltage transformer used in Hayward ComforZone CZ, HeatMaster HM2 and H-Series ED2 electronic pool heaters in the 150 to 400 model range.
What it does
Everything on the control side of the heater, the board, the display and the safety circuit, runs on low voltage that this transformer supplies. Line voltage comes in, control voltage goes out, and if the transformer fails the heater goes completely dark even though power is present at the terminal block. That symptom is easy to mistake for a dead control board, so put a meter on the transformer output before you replace anything more expensive.
Fitting
It is a direct replacement for the original transformer in the heater control box. Kill the power at the breaker before opening the panel, and note the wiring positions before pulling the old one out.
