Product details

The Hayward HCXSPS6 is the power supply for the Saline C 6.0 salt chlorine generator. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What the power supply does

A salt chlorine generator is two pieces of equipment: the cell in the plumbing line, and the power supply that feeds and controls it. The supply converts and regulates the power the cell needs to convert salt into chlorine, and it carries the controls and diagnostics for the system. When the supply fails, the cell can be in perfect condition and still produce nothing.

Cell and supply are separate

This listing is the power supply on its own. The cell is a separate part with its own service life, so a system that has stopped producing needs both checked before you decide which one to buy.

Fitting

Confirm Saline C 6.0 on the equipment plate first, since Hayward salt systems use model specific supplies. Replacing one is hard wired equipment work and should be done by a qualified installer.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which system does this power supply fit?
The Hayward Saline C 6.0 chlorine generator. Confirm the model on the equipment plate, because Hayward power supplies are model specific.
Does the salt cell come with it?
No. This is the power supply only. The cell is a separate Hayward part.
My system is not making chlorine. Is the power supply the problem?
It can be, but check the simple things first: salt level, water temperature, cell condition and any error shown on the display. A power supply is the answer when the cell and the water check out and the supply still will not drive it.
Is this a genuine Hayward part?
Yes. It is Hayward part HCXSPS6.
