The CMP 27182-200-000 is a heavy duty tapered skimmer basket built to the American Products S20 pattern. It cross references the S-20 and B-200 baskets.

Size

It measures 8-1/2 inches across the top, 6 inches tall and 5-1/2 inches across the bottom. The taper is what lets it seat properly in the skimmer throat, so check all three figures against the basket you are pulling out. Skimmer baskets sit close together in size between brands, and a basket that is nearly right will not seat and will float up under flow.

Heavy duty for a reason

CMP builds this line as a stronger alternative to the originals. Baskets fail at the rim and along the body wall, usually after being lifted out full and dropped back in cold. A basket that has split stops catching, and the leaves it should have held go on to the pump strainer and then to the impeller, where the same problem costs a great deal more to fix.
