Product details

The R0334700 is the high limit switch harness for Laars LX and LT pool heaters. It is the made up wiring loom that ties the high limit switches into the heater control circuit.

What the high limit circuit does

High limit switches are the heater safety cutout. If water temperature climbs past the set point, they open and shut the heater down before anything is damaged. That makes their wiring a safety item, not a place for a twisted splice.

When to replace it

Heater cabinets run hot and damp. Over enough seasons the insulation on the harness hardens, cracks or scorches, and a marginal connection there shows up as a heater that trips out or refuses to fire. Fitting the factory harness puts the original routing and connectors back rather than leaving a repair in the circuit.

What does the high limit switch do?
It is the safety cutout that shuts the heater down if water temperature climbs too high. The harness is the wiring that connects it into the control circuit.
Does it include the switches themselves?
No. This is the harness only. The high limit switches are separate parts.
Why would the harness need replacing?
Cabinet heat and moisture harden and crack wire insulation over the years. Once the insulation is brittle or scorched, replacing the whole harness is more reliable than patching one lead.
