Product details

The Hayward CZXHLC3105 is the high limit switch for C-Spa XI Series heaters. It is the over temperature cutout that protects the heater and the water it is heating.

How it works

The switch watches the temperature at the heater and opens the heating circuit if it climbs beyond the safe limit. That is what stops an electric heater from continuing to fire into water that is not moving.

Trace the cause before you replace

A high limit rarely trips for no reason. In most cases it is telling you the heater is starved of flow: a loaded filter, a partly closed valve, an air lock, a blocked impeller or a pump that is no longer moving what it should. Sort out the flow first. If the switch itself has failed open or will no longer reset, this is the replacement.

What does a high limit switch do?
