Century Full-Rated Two-Speed Pool Pump Motor, 2.0 HP 1.3 SF 230V (B2984)

The Century B2984 is a full rated, two speed square flange motor for pool pumps: 2.0 HP with a 1.3 service factor at 230V, switching between 3450 rpm and 1725 rpm. It is the replacement motor for Pentair Challenger and WhisperFlo, Hayward TriStar and Jandy PlusHP PHPF and PHPM pumps.

Two speeds

High speed handles vacuuming, heating and heavy circulation at 11.0 amps. Low speed turns the pool over at 1725 rpm on 1.8 amps, quietly and for a fraction of the energy. Both windings are energy efficient designs: permanent split capacitor on low speed, capacitor start and capacitor run on high.

Construction

Y56Y frame, open drip proof enclosure rated for 50 °C ambient, class F insulation and built in thermal protection. The 303 stainless steel shaft is 0.625 in. in diameter with 1/2 in. threads and rides on sealed ball bearings at both ends. Rotation is counterclockwise from the pump end. Overall length is 14.40 in. with a 10.00 in. frame.

This motor is not California Title 20 compliant. Century makes six compliant VGreen Evo variable speed motors, EVC130, EVC165, EVC225, EVQ130, EVQ165 and EVQ225, for installations in California.
