Product details

Jacuzzi 42288605 is the motor locking ring nut with ratchet for the Magnum and Magnum Plus pumps. It measures 8 3/4 inches across the outside and 7 inches across the inside.

What it holds

The ring nut is what clamps the motor to the wet end of the pump. Everything behind it depends on that joint being drawn up properly, so a ring that is cracked, stripped or missing its ratchet is not something to work around.

The thread

The inside of the ring carries a buttress thread, an asymmetric form built to hold load in one direction. It will not engage an ordinary vee thread of the same nominal size, which is why the two listed diameters are worth measuring against your pump before ordering rather than judging by appearance.
