Product details

The Pentair 462023 is the flame sensor kit for the ETI 400 pool heater. It is the genuine Pentair replacement.

What the flame sensor does

The sensor is how the heater proves to itself that the burner has actually lit. If the control cannot see flame within its trial period, it shuts the gas valve and locks out. That is a safety design, not a fault, which is why a sensor that has fouled or failed produces a heater that fires briefly and then quits.

Fitting

This is the ETI 400 kit specifically. Other ETI 400 components, including the burner assembly, are separate Pentair parts, so confirm which piece of the ignition system has failed before ordering.
