The Raypak AVIA P-R404A-EP-C, part number 018039, is a 399,000 BTU propane gas pool and spa heater with IID ignition, low NOx emissions and WiFi built in. It is rated for installation from sea level to 4500 ft.

Heat exchanger

The heat exchanger uses copper tubing for fast heat transfer, paired with polymer headers that do not corrode. Raypak's ProTek Shield adds a further layer of protection against chemical and environmental corrosion, which matters on a heater that lives outdoors next to chlorinated water.

Controls

WiFi connectivity lets you check the water temperature and change the set point from your phone, and the heater handles both pool and spa duty from one unit.

Is this the propane or natural gas model?
Propane. The P in the EP suffix of P-R404A-EP-C denotes propane. Do not connect it to natural gas.
What elevation is it rated for?
0 to 4500 ft. Installations above 4500 ft need the high altitude version.
What does WiFi give me?
The AVIA connects to your home network so you can see the water temperature and adjust the set point from your phone rather than walking out to the pad.
How does it ship?
By freight on a pallet. A full size gas heater is too large for parcel carriers. Have someone available to receive it and inspect the carton before signing.
