The Raypak B-R266A-EP-C is a 266K BTU propane gas pool heater with the ASME rating, digital IID controls, a bronze header and a copper heat exchanger. It is configured for installations from 0 to 2000 ft of elevation.
The ASME build
This is the ASME rated version rather than the standard residential build, which is the specification called for on many commercial and public pools. Check what your jurisdiction and your plans require before ordering, since the ASME and non ASME models are not interchangeable on paper even where they will physically fit.
Fuel, header and ignition
The heater is built for propane. Raypak makes a separate natural gas model, and the two cannot be swapped by choice at the equipment pad. The header is bronze and the heat exchanger is copper. Ignition is digital IID: the burner lights electronically on each call for heat, so there is no standing pilot burning gas between cycles.
Delivery and installation
A heater of this size ships by freight and is installed by a licensed gas fitter. Gas supply sizing, venting and clearances all have to be worked out for the specific site before the unit is set.
