Why altitude matters

Gas appliances are jetted for the air density they will run in. This heater carries the #58 orifice for elevations between 2000 and 3000 feet. Fitting a sea level heater at that altitude leaves it running rich, which costs efficiency and shortens the life of the burner tray, so the altitude version is not an upgrade, it is the correct part for the site.

Fuel and controls
