Product details

The Paramount venturi skimmer is a wall skimmer built around a patented venturi nozzle, supplied with a light gray deck lid. Part number 004702100208.

Why the venturi matters

A conventional skimmer depends entirely on how much water the pump is moving. Turn a variable speed pump down to save energy and the skimming falls off with it, so leaves and pollen sit on the surface until someone turns the pump back up. The venturi nozzle changes that. It keeps a working skimming action at low pump speeds, which means the energy savings from slow running do not come at the cost of a dirty water line.

Weir door and lid

The weir door is notched rather than flat. The notch keeps flow moving through the door at lower speeds and gives debris fewer places to wedge itself. The deck lid is designed so the inside of the skimmer throat stays fully open, which makes basket removal and general access straightforward.

Vacuum connection

The nozzle sits offset in the throat, leaving clear room to drop a vacuum hose onto the fitting. That is a small detail that matters every time you manually vacuum the pool.

Why a venturi skimmer instead of a standard one?
A standard skimmer relies on flow, so it loses skimming power as the pump slows down. The venturi nozzle in this Paramount skimmer keeps the skimming action going at low pump speeds.
