Why the venturi matters
A conventional skimmer depends entirely on how much water the pump is moving. Turn a variable speed pump down to save energy and the skimming falls off with it, so leaves and pollen sit on the surface until someone turns the pump back up. The venturi nozzle changes that. It keeps a working skimming action at low pump speeds, which means the energy savings from slow running do not come at the cost of a dirty water line.
Weir door and lid
