Product details

The Waterway 425-1928 is the waste outlet fitting used on Waterway sand filter assemblies. It is the factory part, listed under both the Clearwater top mount and the Carefree filter parts breakdowns.

Where it sits

The waste outlet is the port that dumps water out of the system when the valve is set to backwash or to waste. It carries the full flow of the pump every time you clean the sand, which is why the fitting itself wears and eventually weeps at the joint.

Before you order

This is the fitting alone, not the valve. If the leak is coming from the valve body or from the spider gasket inside it, those are separate parts. While the fitting is out, renew any o-ring or gasket at the joint so you are not back at the same drip in a season.
