The Pentair 154540 is the 12 in. lateral for the Triton II TR140 sand filter. Laterals are the slotted arms at the bottom of the tank that let filtered water out while holding the sand bed back. This is the genuine Pentair part.

Fitment and quantity

It fits the Triton II TR140 and the commercial TR140C. The hub takes eight laterals, and this listing is for one, so a full replacement is eight pieces.

When to replace

Sand in the pool after a backwash is the classic sign of a cracked lateral. Replacing laterals means removing the sand, so it is worth inspecting all eight and changing any that are cracked or brittle while the tank is empty, then reloading with fresh sand.

No. This is the 12 in. lateral for the TR140 and TR140C. The TR40 through TR100 use different lateral lengths.
