The Pentair 154871 is the genuine threaded 1-1/2" cap used on Triton side mount sand filters. It is molded plastic, the same part the filter left the factory with.
Where it goes
Triton filters carry threaded ports for drains, gauges and unused connections. This cap closes a 1-1/2" threaded port. Because the filter tank runs under pressure the whole time the pump is on, a cap that is cracked, stripped or simply missing turns into a steady leak and a soft spot in system pressure.
Before you order
Confirm the thread size on the port you are capping. Triton filters use several port sizes across the range, and only the 1-1/2" ports take this part. It suits the Triton II and Triton C-3 side mount filters, including the commercial TR100C and TR140C.
