Product details

The Pentair 150040 is the genuine OEM air relief tube for Triton II TR50 and TR60 side mount sand filters. It is the version used on units built after 11/99.

What the tube does

The air relief tube carries trapped air from inside the tank up to the relief assembly on top of the filter, so the air can be bled off when you open the valve. If the tube is cracked, broken or missing, air stays in the tank and the filter never fully purges, which shows up as poor flow and a jumpy pressure gauge.

Before you order

Confirm the build date of your filter. Pentair revised the air relief parts in late 1999, and this tube is the after 11/99 design. The vent tube retainer and the air relief strainer are separate parts in the same assembly, so it is worth checking those at the same time.
