Product details

The Pentair 150042 is the air relief tube for Triton II TR140 sand filters built after 11/99. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What it does

Air collects at the top of a filter tank, and the relief tube is what gives that air a path out when the relief valve is opened. A cracked or broken tube leaves the air sitting in the tank, which cuts flow through the sand bed and can make the tank noisy on start up.

Check the date first

Pentair changed this part in late 1999. This listing is the version for tanks built after 11/99, so read the build date on the filter label before ordering. It is also listed on the TR100C and TR140C commercial side mount filters. The TR100 takes a different tube under its own part number.

Does this fit any TR140?
It is the version for filters built after 11/99. Filters built before that date use a different tube, so confirm the build date on the tank label first.
Will it fit a TR100?
No. The TR100 air relief tube is a separate Pentair part number.
What does the air relief tube do?
It routes trapped air out of the top of the filter tank. Without it, air collects in the tank instead of being purged when the relief valve is opened.
