The Pentair 150036 is the retainer for the 3/8 inch air relief vent tube used on Triton II sand filters built after 11/99. It is the genuine Pentair part, molded in plastic.
What it holds
Air relief on these filters runs through a small tube from the top of the tank. The retainer is the piece that keeps that tube seated where it belongs. When it breaks, the tube drifts out of position and the air relief stops doing its job, which shows up as air that will not purge and a pressure reading you cannot trust.
