Pentair 150088 is the genuine lateral assembly for ClearPro sand filters. Laterals sit down in the tank and hold the sand bed back while letting filtered water pass through to the return.

What ClearPro adds

ClearPro is Pentair patented filtration technology. Where a plain sand bed catches particles in the 50 to 100 micron range, Pentair states that ClearPro traps particles up to five times smaller, below what the eye can detect, for 60 percent cleaner water than a standard sand filter.

When a lateral fails

A cracked or split lateral stops holding the sand back, and the first sign is sand appearing in the pool through the returns. Replacing the failed assembly is what puts that right.
