Product details

The Pentair 154805 is the bottom piping assembly for the side mount Triton TR60 sand filter. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What the assembly consists of

It comes as one unit built from a 2 inch female adapter, a 2 inch 90 degree elbow with the special fitting molded into it, and a 2 inch threaded nipple, with the female and the 90 joined by a length of 2 inch PVC pipe. The end that faces the bulkhead fitting carries 2 inch FPT threads. The end that faces the lateral hub carries 2 inch MPT threads. The special fitting on the elbow is where the air relief connector attaches.

Measurements

From the end of the female to the end of the 90 degree elbow the assembly measures 11-1/4 inches. From the end of the nipple to the top of the connector it measures 8-1/2 inches. The straight pipe section between the ell and the female is 5 inches. Those figures are worth checking against what you pull out of the tank before you order.

Before you order

The bottom hub is not part of this assembly. If the hub is cracked as well, which is common when the piping has failed, it has to be ordered separately. Since the tank has to come apart either way, inspect the laterals at the same time.

Does the bottom hub come with this?
No. The assembly is supplied without the bottom hub, so order that separately if yours also needs replacing.
What are the thread types at each end?
The end toward the bulkhead fitting has 2 inch FPT threads. The end toward the lateral hub has 2 inch MPT threads.
What is the special fitting on the elbow for?
The air relief connector attaches to it. The fitting is built into the 90 degree elbow rather than being a separate piece.
How long is the assembly?
From the end of the female to the end of the 90 degree elbow it is 11-1/4 inches. From the end of the nipple to the top of the connector it is 8-1/2 inches. The straight pipe run between the ell and the female measures 5 inches.
