The Hayward SP1419DBLK is a Hydrostream return fitting with a 3/4 inch opening, finished in black. It threads into the pool wall return and shapes the water coming back from the filter.
What the opening size does
The Hydrostream is a nozzle. Narrow the opening and the same flow leaves faster and travels further, which is how you reach the corners a lazy return never touches. Go too narrow for your pump and plumbing and you simply add back pressure, so match the size to what the system was built around.
Black rather than white
The black finish disappears against dark tile lines and dark plaster or pebble interiors, where a white fitting stands out. Functionally it is the same fitting as the other colors in the range.
Installation is straightforward. Unscrew the old fitting from the wall return and thread this one in, with no pipe work and no draining beyond the return line itself.
