Product details

The CMP 25523-501-100 is a gray fiberglass wall fitting with a 1-1/2 inch socket on one end and a 2 inch spigot on the other, supplied with the nut and gasket.

Reading the connections

The two ends work in opposite directions and it is worth being clear on which is which before ordering. The socket end is a female connection: 1-1/2 inch pipe goes inside it. The spigot end is male and sized like 2 inch pipe, so it goes into a 2 inch socket. Getting these the wrong way round is the usual reason a fitting arrives and will not go together.

The nut and gasket

Both are in the box. They are the parts that actually seal the penetration through the wall, and they are also the parts that harden and start to weep with age, which is often what brings someone to replace the whole fitting rather than just the pipework behind it.
