The Hayward SP2610X152S is a Super Pump built as a 1-1/2 HP max rated dual speed in ground pool pump for 230V service, and it comes with the speed switch fitted.

What the second speed buys you

Filtering does not need the flow that vacuuming and heating need. On low speed the pump moves less water and draws considerably less power, so the long daily turnover runs quietly and cheaply, and high speed is there when you actually want it. That is the whole argument for a two speed pump over a single speed one of the same size.

Before you order

This is the 230V version, so check the supply at your pad. The Super Pump line has been in service a long time, which means replacement parts and seals are easy to come by for years after the install.

Can I run this on 115V?
No. This build of the Super Pump is 230V.
Does the switch come with it?
Yes. This is the version supplied with the switch, so the two speeds can be selected without sourcing a separate control.
Why pick two speed over single speed?
Low speed moves less water for far less power. Most of the day can be spent filtering on low, with high speed kept for vacuuming, backwashing and heating.
What does max rated mean?
It is the rating basis Hayward uses for this model. When you are comparing pumps, compare flow at the head your own plumbing creates rather than horsepower alone.
