Confirm the board before you order

A HeatPro does not run on one board. The interface board is a distinct part from the main control board, and a heat pump that will not start, will not hold a setpoint or shows nothing at the panel can be pointing at either. Read the fault, check the wiring diagram for the model, and identify the board that has failed before buying a replacement. Board numbers are also model specific, so check the data plate on the unit rather than going by the family name.

Working safely

Kill power at the breaker before the control housing comes off, and give the unit a moment before touching anything inside. Handle the new board by its edges and keep it in the antistatic bag until it is going in, because static damage is the quickest way to turn a new board into a second dead one.
