Product details

The Hayward W3S270T2 is the Pro Series top mount sand filter in the 27 inch tank size, supplied with a 2 inch valve. Hayward lists it with its inground pool filters.

Top mount

Top mount means the control valve sits on the lid of the tank rather than on the side of it, so the plumbing runs come off the top. It keeps the footprint tight at the pad and puts the valve handle at a comfortable height.

Living with a sand filter

Sand filters are the least demanding of the three common filter types. Routine service is a backwash rather than pulling and hosing an element, and the media itself lasts for years at a time. The tradeoff is that they filter to a coarser level than cartridge or D.E.
